Exercise is one of the most effective ways to strengthen your heart — and you don’t have to be a marathon runner to see results. The key is consistency and finding ways to keep your body moving throughout the day.
Make Movement a Habit
The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week — that’s just 30 minutes a day, five days a week. A brisk walk, bike ride, or swim all count.
Break Up Long Periods of Sitting
If your work involves sitting for long stretches, take a few minutes every hour to stand, stretch, or walk around. Small bursts of activity improve circulation and lower blood pressure.
Mix It Up
Incorporate a blend of cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises to keep your routine interesting and effective. Even household chores, gardening, or playing with your kids can contribute to your daily activity goals.
Movement fuels a stronger heart, a sharper mind, and a happier you. Start small, stay consistent, and celebrate every step toward better heart health.
